"Public & Privacy"

We learned this time about "public & privacy". I know about Public Privacy Policy. For the purposes of this Policy, “Personal Information” means any information, recorded in any form, about an identified individual, or an individual whose identity may be inferred or determined from the information. Information, recorded in any form, about more than one individual where the identity of the individuals is not known and cannot be inferred from the information (“Aggregated Information”) is not subject to this policy. Mitel Networks Corporation (“Mitel Networks”) retains the right to use Aggregated Information in any way that it determines appropriate. Personal Information of employees is addressed in Mitel Networks’ Employee Privacy Policy.
Mitel Networks may disclose Personal Information to, among others, its affiliates, agents, contractors or third party service providers, which perform services on behalf of the company or assist Mitel as part of our delivery of products, services or information. Using contractual or other arrangements, Mitel Networks shall ensure that such Personal Information is used solely as directed by Mitel Networks and that such affiliates, agents, contractors or third party service providers, with respect to that information, act in a manner consistent with the relevant principles articulated in this Policy.
Personal Information may also be subject to transfer to another organization in the event of a merger, sale of assets or business units or change of ownership of all or part of Mitel Networks. This will occur only if the parties have entered into an agreement under which the collection, use and disclosure of the information is restricted to those purposes that relate to the business transaction, including a determination whether or not to proceed with the business transaction, and is to be used by the parties to carry out and complete the business transaction.

"Human"

This week's subject was about Human and mediation. Everybody knows about human but Mediation ?? Mediation means Why Consider Mediation?

Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution that is offered by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as an alternative to the traditional investigative or litigation process. Mediation is an informal process in which a neutral third party assists the opposing parties to reach a voluntary, negotiated resolution of a charge of discrimination. The decision to mediate is completely voluntary for the charging party and the employer. Mediation gives the parties the opportunity to discuss the issues raised in the charge, clear up misunderstandings, determine the underlying interests or concerns, find areas of agreement and, ultimately, to incorporate those areas of agreements into resolutions. A mediator does not resolve the charge or impose a decision on the parties. Instead, the mediator helps the parties to agree on a mutually acceptable resolution. The mediation process is strictly confidential. Information disclosed during mediation will not be revealed to anyone, including other EEOC employees. Compared to a lawsuit, mediation is swift, confidential, fair, and low cost. Here's a full explanation of its advantages.

If you've given up on negotiating a settlement of your dispute directly with the other party, mediation may be the most painless and efficient way to solve it. Mediation is quick, private, fair, and inexpensive compared to a lawsuit. Mediation sessions are usually scheduled within a few weeks or, at most, a couple of months from the time of a request -- and most sessions last only a few hours or a day, depending on the type of case.

Wednesday - Friday (05.07- 05.09)

"Computer Games"

PC games are created by one or more game developers, often in conjunction with other specialists (such as game artists) and either published independently or through a third party publisher. They may then be distributed on physical media such as DVDs and CDs, as Internet-downloadable shareware, or through online delivery services such as Direct2Drive and Steam. PC games often require specialized hardware in the user's computer in order to play, such as a specific generation of graphics processing unit or an Internet connection for online play, although these system requirements vary from game to game.
Computer games and game addiction are often the subject of criticism, focusing largely on the influence of objectionable content and prolonged gameplay on minors. The Entertainment Software Association and other groups maintain that parents are responsible for moderating their children's behaviour, although the controversy has prompted attempts to control the sale of certain games in the United States. I first think about 'Star Craft'. That game is only I do. And that game is very famous and people of all over the world do . And I like Star also. This class was interesting because I like computer games very much.

"Computer-aid"

The Introduction of Information Technology, Computer-AidKey points of the class is that every digital media technology has an architecture using diagrams to compare physical architectures with digital architectures. It means that digital media technology must have architecture as similar as other ordinary technologies. Every digital media technology has an architecture that can be used to transform work, play and governance.CSCW is Computer Supported Cooperative Work. that is a field of research and design. The examples of CSCW are CAD, CAM. CSCW has a process-form.CAD is used for designing something especially architectual design drawing. We can consider very detail and precious parts when using CAD. CAM is used for manufactual activity. We have to design something with CAD or Computer-aid basic system.Computer would manufacture what we designed automatically. It is usually used in Manufactual plants. Because of Using CAM, Machines displace human's hands completely. Human's hands is not accurate and fast, and makes many inferior goods. But machine doesn't do like that.Computer-aid is a planner to design structure of someting. In fact, People have tried to make a structure with more precision and efficiency. Especially, in surveilance area, People thought how to supevise prisoner efficiently. In 1800s, they used a Circle form structure. supervisor top is central of prison area, and cell is located outline of circle. So supervisor can see prisoner easily. They didn't used computer. But the effort to advance designing made Computer-aid science.

"Human-computer interaction"

This week we learn about human-computer interaction.
Key point is people often interact with media technologies as though the technologies were people. Here are many related pints: ethics, aesthetics& teleology, designand here are some questions.
Questions of ethics-Should we treat technologies as people or people as technologies?-Should we only treat others who are like us eith care and respect? or, should we also extend our care and respect to others who are radically different?-What makes believe someone or something is alive, thinking, or simply the same as us?
Questions of aesthetics& teleology-Do objects, technologies and natural phenomena have goals and intentions?-Or, do they just look like they have goals and intentions?DesignIf we view objects, technologies and natural phenomenon as if they do, in fact, have goals and intentions, then we will design like an artificial intelligence researcher. On the other hand, if we view objects, technologies and natural phenomenon as if the just look like they have goals and intentions, then we will design like a tool builder for human "users" or "operators" of our toolsTo tell the truth I'm not thinking about questions. but maby I'm thinking questions and write the answer.
This time was so exciting because saw many video files. I like it!

Summary of last class 5

Friday (04.11)

"Artificial Intelligence"

Today, I learned about 'A.I(artificial intelligence)'. It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable. So when did AI research start? A. After WWII, a number of people independently started to work on intelligent machines.
The English mathematician Alan Turing may have been the first. He gave a lecture on it in 1947. He also may have been the first to decide that AI was best researched by programming computers rather than by building machines. By the late 1950s, there were many researchers on AI, and most of them were basing their work on programming computers. And I learned what is the Turing test, too.
A. Alan Turing's 1950 article Computing Machinery and Intelligence Tur50 discussed conditions for considering a machine to be intelligent. He argued that if the machine could successfully pretend to be human to a knowledgeable observer then you certainly should consider it intelligent. This test would satisfy most people but not all philosophers. The observer could interact with the machine and a human by teletype (to avoid requiring that the machine imitate the appearance or voice of the person), and the human would try to persuade the observer that it was human and the machine would try to fool the observer.

I Think. The ultimate effort is to make computer programs that can solve problems and achieve goals in the world as well as humans. However, many people involved in particular research areas are much less ambitious.
